TVN | Top 10 Countries that are Good in Startup Development | Which nations are now leading the pack when it comes to the growth of new businesses?
#1 The United States of America has maintained its position as the nation with the top ranking, as stated in the “Startup Blink Global Ecosystem Report 2022.” The United States of America holds onto the top spot on the list for the following three years in a row: 2020, 2021, and 2022. The United States of America achieved a total score gap that was approximately four times greater than that of the United Kingdom, the country that finished in second place. The United States of America contributed to the research with a number of cities that are recognized as being pioneers in the startup industry.
Nevertheless, San Francisco has established itself as the world’s preeminent startup hub. The United States of America is the only country in the world to have more than 250 cities ranked in the top 1000.
#2 The United Kingdom comes in as the world’s second-best nation. It is the only country in the world other than the United States to have more than 50 cities included in the Index. The UK has 78 cities that have been given a ranking.
#3 Israel is the country that holds the third spot on the list, and #4 Canada is the country that occupies the fourth spot. The nation completes the top four leaders that have established dominant leading positions with regard to the growth of new businesses.
#5 We have the first opportunity in the top ten, which is now held by Sweden, to become the first-rated EU country in terms of the success of our startup ecosystem, and it is currently placed fifth.
#6 Germany currently holds the number six spot.
#7 Singapore has surpassed China to become the country with the highest ranking in Asia according to the Index, where it currently sits in seventh place.
In the meantime, #8 Australia, which had been experiencing a downward trend over the course of the previous few years, has now been able to rebound and has moved up to the eighth position.
#9 On the other side, France made remarkable advancements, moving up the rankings by three places, breaking into the top ten, and discovering the potential to become a major player in the global ecosystem.
#10 At long last, we come to China. The nation has experienced unbroken expansion for the past three years. China was previously ranked best among Asian economies; however, due to a significant drop of three points, it no longer holds that position.
There are three new nations that have broken into the top 25 on the world scale.
The first is Austria, which moved up the rankings by five spots and is now in 23rd place. Norway, which moved up to 24th place from 31st the previous year, has also made great progress and is now ranked higher. As a result of the tremendous growth that most of its second-tier cities have experienced, Taiwan has climbed one rank to take the 25th and final slot on the list of the top countries in the world.
Both Brazil and the United Arab Emirates fell two places, moving from their previous positions of 24th and 25th in the world to 26th and 27th respectively. Brazil is the highest-ranked country in Latin America, and the United Arab Emirates is the second-highest-ranked country in the Middle East and North Africa region.
As a result of the war, Russia’s startup ecosystem has suffered, as evidenced by the country’s current position in the rankings (which is 29th, down 12 points from its previous position). New Zealand has successfully re-entered the top 30 countries worldwide after achieving a three-place improvement this year.
This year, Poland fell three places to come in at number 33, continuing a downward trend that started in 2019 when it was rated 20th internationally.
Four countries in Latin America exhibit the evolving ecosystems of the region and are included in the group of countries numbered 30-50. These countries are experiencing positive economic growth. Chile is closing in on Brazil, which is now ranked 34th after moving up two spots from its previous position. After moving up three points, Mexico is now ranked in 35th place, only one spot ahead of Chile. Argentina is now in 37th place, up two spots from where it was previously. In the current rankings, Colombia has moved up three places to take the 44th and final spot available for a country from Latin America.
There have been three new countries that have entered the top 50 after making considerable advancements.
The first country on the list is Indonesia, which moved up the rankings by seven spots and is now ranked number 38 in the globe. The second country on the list is Iceland, which moved up 14 spots and is now ranked number 41 in the world. Greece, which has vaulted back into the top 50 after making a six-place rise to reach the 48th spot, has re-entered the list.
Two countries that fell significantly inside the top 50 rankings are Croatia and Ukraine. Croatia fell eight places to finish in 45th place overall, and Ukraine fell 16 spaces to finish in 50th place overall. There is no need to state the obvious, but the current fighting has had a negative impact on Ukraine’s amazing startup ecosystem.
Even though it dropped one spot to 49th, South Africa is still the only country in Africa to make it into the top 50 countries in the world. This is an important fact to keep in mind.
