As Clouds Sail High, So Can You
TheVintageNestBlog | As Clouds Sail High, So Can You | Do you ever find yourself staring up at the clouds when you chance to be outdoors? The clouds morph in appearance from one moment to the next. Sometimes they’ll be white and fluffy, floating about against the blue sky. There are times when they suddenly take on a gloomy, furious appearance as storms arrive, sometimes even increasing in intensity to the point where they release nature’s wrath through lightning and thunder. And when the storm passes, the calm returns and the clouds go on without a care in the world. Observing these stunning marvels in the sky can be so inspiring.
In life, we can be as fluid as the clouds, adapting to whatever comes our way. Like the puffs and wisps of vapor in the sky, we have the ability to adjust to our environment and even flourish amid dark times and adversity. The skills we acquire can assist us in coping with unpredictable settings we may find ourselves in. It is not in easy times, but in challenging times that we can truly prove what we’re capable of.
It’s easy to fall into dejection and hopelessness when we let our frustrations and issues define how we feel about life. But if we choose to invest time and effort into cultivating our character and developing inner strength, we can face these tempests with a renewed resolve to not be defeated, and instead, to rise above.
The essential means for developing this kind of inner strength is acceptance of the fact that, just as thunderstorms eventually end, the challenges we face in life will also fade away. Every circumstance we find ourselves in will only endure for some time. We can weather the storm and benefit from it in the same way as the earth benefits after a storm has passed if we have the patience and fortitude to stick it out. If we endure with patience, we can pass through it and gain greater wisdom from the experience.
Maybe things are rough for you right now. You may be facing the consequences of a terrible decision or choices that turned out to be a loss. Understanding that you already possess within yourself the tools needed to overcome this challenge is crucial. Mistakes are opportunities for self-improvement. Children learn to walk by falling and getting back up again and again. And most of the time, we grownups need to take a cue from children and choose to become stronger by taking risks.
