TVN | NEW YORK | via PRNewswire — Girls on the Run Gets Sponsored by TransPerfect | Girls on the Run is a non-profit organization based in the United States that works to improve the lives of elementary school girls by strengthening their social, emotional, and behavioral skills. Today, the world’s largest provider of language and technology solutions for global business, TransPerfect, made the announcement that it will serve as the Visionary Sponsor of the Spring 5k Race Celebration hosted by Girls on the Run.

The 5k represented the completion of a 10-week program that took place in New York City during the months of May and June with the goal of teaching young women how to be healthy and confident through a running-based curriculum. The program took place in the city. A Girls on the Run team consisting of ten girls received full-season scholarships, a pair of sneakers, and an end-of-season celebration event thanks to the support provided by TransPerfect.

The Vice President of Production at TransPerfect, Kristyna Marrero, together with her staff, ran the 5k race across the Williamsburg Bridge alongside the girls from the 5th grade class at P.S. 020 Anna Silver Elementary, along with their coaches, parents, and other volunteers. A significant number of people from the TransPerfect team came out to show their support by participating in the event as walking companions, running partners, and checkpoint cheerleaders.

“It was an honor to run alongside the girls as well as their coaches, parents, and volunteers as they completed their 5k across the Williamsburg Bridge” said Marrero. “Girls on the Run NYC is an incredible organization that has transformed the lives of young girls throughout the communities of New York City by teaching valuable life lessons and helping establish an appreciation for health and fitness.”

The dedication of TransPerfect to being a good corporate citizen has been an important factor in the development of the culture of the firm as well as the way workers approach their work on a daily basis. Girls Who Code, the V Foundation for Cancer Research, CFES Brilliant Pathways, and Athlete Ally are a few of the other groups that have received financial assistance from TransPerfect.
